YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED

your love is all i know

YOUR LOVE IS ALL I KNOW (rel. April 2025) is the sophomore EP from Seattle band, Swamp Wife. In its lyrics, tone, and visual interpretations, this EP sought to address themes of liminality, imperfect nostalgia, and suburban horror. Through the process of creating visual material inspired by the lyrical and musical content, Swamp Wife was left with an overflow of art. This media surplus led to the creation of their debut gallery show, Your Love Is All I Know, at Steve Gilbert Gallery.

This art show encapsulates and builds on the themes explored in Your Love Is All I Know, through Abby Wrath’s oil paintings, VHS glitch photography, and music videos, Lola Gil’s film photography and risograph prints, L. Campbell’s masks and costumes, and Emma Daughters’ fiber art creations and film photography. This is a multimedia exploration of recontextualiztion of themes through different mediums:

What happens when you make something you love? Do you take a picture of it? Maybe a video, maybe you paint it, then you write a song about it. What if you want to take a picture of the song?

can you remember your childhood neighborhood? is it the same as you remember, or is something off? was the light always this harsh? have you always felt this way? you enter the house. was the carpet always this sickening color? have the walls always felt this tight? your pulse quickens, you feel the tears welling up. nothing is as it should be. what was that in the corner of your eye? was that a person in the other room? why did their face look like that? you know theres a mirror at the end of the hallway you used to study yourself in all those years ago, but you dread it in this moment. you don't want to know what you look like. what if you're as misshapen as this place after all these years. your heart aches on the edge of bursting. there's movement in the kitchen and suddenly you're running for your life out the door. they're here. they're watching. they've always been watching.

where'd you go?

We are honored to have the privilege to show our art and we hope you'll come and check it out. These are just a few sneak peeks to pique your curiosity ;) We will have photos, videos, fiber arts, risograph prints, costumes, and hand made masks.

keep it swampy

xoxo
